The Unknown Saints

Today’s post on mother’s day is to introduce The Unknown Saints story. It is on the website under the New Life stories tab.

There are a lot of unknown saints. Mother Theresa is a well known saint for good reason, but in one of her sayings she alludes to lesser saints who go unnoticed. She says, “The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do it anyway.” It is forgotten because it is taken for granted. The unknown saints may not appear to be any holier than anyone else. Their saintliness comes in the form of service and caring for those they love and loving all they meet. They put others before self, without any recognition for it, except by God who knows everyone’s heart and motives.

Adding "The Bus" in True Stories

This may be of interest to those of you who have thought of purchasing the book, On My Way, for a friend or family member.  Someone bought seven books for his friends and wanted me to write a note in each of them.  He gave me a two sentence description of where he thought each person was on their journey.  One book was to go to someone whose focus may not have been on Christ or his faith at all.  The note to the person struggling with his faith was the most difficult.  It was hard to decide how to approach the subject.  Offering the book, On My Way, helps to open the door, but in the end people focus on their faith only if they have the will and desire to do so.  I asked the Lord for help and as usual God responded on a grand scale.  I got more than what I asked for.  Not only did he provide the bus analogy, but He also had me think about ideals and destiny, both of which had been on my mind for quite a while.  It was at this time that He gave me the idea of the website and how destiny could be a key part of the website.  Go to The Bus under the True Story tab, and also take a look at Your Destiny

“On My Way” Website - Now Live

How incredible God is! At the beginning of March the Lord was prompting me to start a website. I knew nothing about websites. It took four of us to get this done during the COVID-19 crisis. The Holy Spirit and myself for content, Vi, my wife as editor, and Bill McKinney the webmaster. None of us knew anything about designing a website a few weeks ago, but His Spirit was our guide in choosing a platform and inspiring content. Here is a detailed timeline of the website development:

March 7 - Registered a domain name on Go Daddy and could not make heads or tails about designing a website with their tutorial. Talked to my niece and she said, her dad, my brother had designed one for his rental property.

March 8 - My brother called and said he designed one 9 years ago on a platform that did require some programming knowledge and sent me a link to a site that evaluates website platforms.

March 14 - Picked Squarespace even though I had no clue on programming. I had to register a domain name with them but could not use the one I just bought from Go Daddy. I picked the same name but with .net instead of .com (OnMyWayToHeaven.net).

March 23 - After studying for a week I had 8 questions for Squarespace and they sent me to 8 different website locations?????? Sent out an appeal for help to my neighborhood. 1st response one word, "No." 2nd response, “Yes,” BUT in Arizona until COVID-19 ends.

March 24 - Called an 81 year old friend, who had added memory to my PC in January, to see if he knew anyone who could help.

March 25 - He looked at the Squarespace platform and said he could probably figure it out. I worked on content, he worked on website design.

April 15 - Went live with website (three weeks from the time we started work to site launch).

If you are visiting the site for the first time, you might start with the True Stories page. More stories will be added in the future.

I agonized over the Your Destiny page because of the depth of understanding needed from the Holy Spirit. Take your time here. The Holy Spirit will speak directly to you. When you thirst for inspiration and spiritual understanding come back to read Your Destiny again.

When returning to the site go to the Blog page. There will be periodic blog postings and site updates sent to subscriber emails.

What is on the site is not in the book “On My Way” but they complement each other. The book inspired this site and it is designed to help you on your road to heaven. The questions you ask yourself after each chapter in the book allows the Holy Spirit to whisper what He wants to tell you each time you read it. HE was the “Ghost” writer.

If you want to drop me a note, my e-mail is: onmywaytoheaven19@gmail.com. There is a link on the website to my email address.

May God bless you,

Clarence Gilles

Evangelization

You cannot evangelize others without evangelizing yourself in the process. The Holy Spirit creates the opportunity for you to minister to or help someone. To do that He has already inspired you to be the one to do it and enables you to provide what the other person needs. He uplifts everyone involved. What a blessing!!

NEW - "The Vision” Story

Today “THE VISION” story was added under the NEW LIFE tab on the website.

Here is the background to the story:

I was to give an hour long talk on my book, On My Way, at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood, Ohio.  About 80 people came to the talk.  At the end I mentioned that I would be back in March for the spring library book discussion.  In the closing remarks I also said I had some books for sale, if anyone was interested. The very first person in line was Rose, who was so excited to tell me her story.  Her story was very interesting, but I noticed many people were still in the line to buy books.  I asked if she could come to the library discussion in March and she said she would.  On the way out I stopped at the book store to give them three books and drop another off at the library.

On the third Saturday in March, I arrived at 12:45 for the 1-3 o’clock book discussion.  Gina, the librarian, had told me it would a different and smaller group. At 1:00 the group was definitely smaller, 0 people.

Gina said it was not unusual for people to trickle in.  Skeptical, I went to the book store to see if anyone had purchased my books.  While looking for the books I saw a couple in the store and asked if they might want to come to my talk.  No, they had other plans.  I went to the clerk to see if she had an idea in which aisle my books might be.  I told her they had colorful circles with a red bull’s eye on the front cover. Then I saw all three books were right below the counter.  It was then that I noticed a middle aged man behind me.  I turned and asked if he would like to come to my talk on the book.  He asked when it was, and I told him in just a few minutes in the library.  He asked how long the talk was. About 2 hours with discussion time I said.  He said he would come but couldn’t stay more than ½ hour.  I told him he could leave whenever he wanted.

When I went back to the library, three maintenance men were replacing fluorescent light bulbs. Naturally I invited them to the talk.  The maintenance manager said they had a lot to do as the two volunteers with him only come in on Saturday.  However, they would take the ladders down and come for a few minutes.

Three others had trickled in while I was in the bookstore.  One was a nun who had been at my previous talk and lived at the center.  Another was an author, who had written a book about his own conversion and the third was Rose.  The gentleman from the bookstore came and Gina the librarian along with the maintenance men, we now had eight.  Christ said, “When two or more are gathered in my name, there I am also,” and He was.  All eight stayed for the entire talk and discussion.

My Morning Song Today

Woke up thinking what Christ is saying to us today and then the song Lean on Me came to mind by Bill Withers:

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show

You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on

If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load

If you just call me (call me)
If you need a friend (call me) call me uh huh(call me) if you need a friend (call me)
If you ever need a friend (call me)
