Skepticism and The Mystical World Around Us

We are all skeptic at one time or another, because we don’t know how the mystical world around us works, or what roles different factions play.  Such as:  God the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, (the Mother of Jesus,) the Saints, or the Angels.  We do not know if all requests go through God the Father, Jesus or the Holy Spirit.  What we do know, is that the church is made up of all of us who believe in one God and try to live Christlike lives.

The mystical world is all around us but not revealed.  Everyone makes their own assessment based upon what they research and are exposed to.

Many people feel praying to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, is sacrilegious. These two stories may help clarify why some people pray to her for help.

The stories confirm that she does intercede in some way.  We are not privy to the spiritual world. Does Mary speak to Jesus, Jesus to God the Father, God the Father, to the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit to our soul and body in a nano second?  No human knows.  With that in mind, I know one story is true because it happened to me, and I believe the other because of who the person is.  The stories are about financial need and about suffering.

The Holy Spirit’s Request

I often go to daily mass at two different parishes.  They have adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after Mass for about an hour.  I usually stay for much of that time, as do many others.

One lady comes quite often.  One day in November, after adoration, as I was leaving, I saw her talking to another lady at the back of church and the Spirit said to me, “Give her some money.” As I got to the back of the church the ladies parted, and I greeted her and told her the Holy Spirit told me to give her some money.”  She said, “I just got done praying to the Blessed Mother to help me buy the children Christmas gifts.  My husband has been out of work for six months and won’t be starting his new job until the first of the year.  I said, “I will give you a check tomorrow morning at church.”  An amount just popped out of my mouth.  That night when we wrote the check, the Holy Spirit said to make it out for more.  I put it in an envelope and gave it to her the next morning.  I had no hesitation.  It is all God’s anyway.  She was praying to the Blessed Mother, as I was praying to the Holy Spirit.  How can anyone know the mystical world of God?

Kathy Bramlage’s Miracle Rosary Story

I know Clarence from our church in Ohio before he and Vi moved to Indiana to follow grandkids.  My story begins with a series of events that led my husband and I to make an unexpected trip to Medjugorje.  This is a small town in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina that became a major global Catholic pilgrimage site after six local children reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1981.  It was September of 2024.  We invited a Catholic Priest from our parish, Father Joseph, to go with us.  Father was from India and while there he had experienced a vision, of both Mary and Jesus.  We had an opportunity to bring him along on this trip and felt it vital that he accompany us there as it was a place where Mary was still appearing daily to some of the original visionaries.  Through a series of wonderful “coincidences,” we were able to arrange lodging for the three of us with one of these visionaries, Ivan Dragicevic.

Each day we would go to his onsite chapel in the afternoon at a pre-arranged time to join a group of about 40 pilgrims to pray the rosary.  After we finished the rosary together, Ivan would go up to the altar in the chapel where Mary would appear to Him.  We were unable to see Mary.  Ivan would then proclaim the message of Our Lady to the waiting pilgrims through an interpreter.

In town, there are many shops where religious goods of all kinds can be purchased, and in one of those shops, Father Joseph bought a Rosary.  The beads were made of multicolored stones (shown below).  Father blessed the Rosary and presented it one day to Ivan before his visit to Mary.  Ivan blessed it, and I believe Mother Mary also blessed it, because there was power in that rosary.

Our pilgrimage was scheduled to be for 10 days, but on the 5th day, I received word that my mother, Carol, was in great pain and close to death.  I scrambled to arrange a return to Indiana to be with her.  I brought the Rosary with me.  When I arrived and greeted her, I presented the Rosary.  Although my mother is not a Catholic and had some dementia, she gratefully accepted the gift saying, “OH! how beautiful”, and placed it around her neck.

From that point on, the pain she had been enduring from colon cancer, and the gall and kidney stones disappeared.  She remained pain free until she died. The doctors and family were in disbelief, but I knew.  Thank you, Mother Mary, for letting my mother go to your Son in peace.  I pray that she will be with Jesus in heaven for eternity and I, God willing, will someday join her.
