Comfort Zone

I did not write a commentary on my recent post, because the video does not represent who I am.  I have been to a few charismatic encounters, some with Chris Bramlage. I have not always been comfortable there but have always felt the Spirit’s presence.  This brings me to why the Holy Spirit may have had me post Chris’s recent story.  I wanted to attend Bible study while some were not interested or didn’t want to put in the effort.  I went to Cursillo, even though I didn’t know what it was about, however, it changed my life.  Others, when asked, often say no, I don’t think I want to go.  They are comfortable where they are.

The Holy Spirit will send someone into most people’s lives to invite them to discover who Jesus is, and sometimes to experience the supernatural.  Each person decides each time if they want to get to know Jesus better and accept the invitation.  “Seek and you will find.”  Seldom are we showered with the gifts of the Holy Spirit while within our comfort zone.  When was the last time you acquired: Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Fortitude, Piety, Good Council, and Fear of the Lord without being in a special environment or putting forth some effort?

What Chris is saying is that when the Spirit offers the opportunity to encounter Christ, we need to say, “Yes” - even if it is out of our comfort zone.

Listen to the Spirit.  He wants us to participate in conversations He is involved in.  He is the source of enlightenment and inspiration.

"What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, this is what God has prepared for those who love him."  1 Corinthians 2:9

Who knows?  Maybe I will be singing and swinging my arms in the future.
