A few years ago, during holy week, my friend Len made a retreat to Gethsemani, a Trappist retreat house in Kentucky. After a couple of days of contemplation, he wrote these notes to himself. I thought I would share them, because the Holy Spirit reminded him of these basic truths, without reading it somewhere, like you are now.
For Jesus it is grief Friday, but for us it is Good Friday (Our sins are forgiven).
The more you forgive, the more you will be forgiven. This is the basic law of the harvest and of the kingdom of God. (Galatians 6: 7-8)
Do you want love? Then give love away.
Do you want to receive peace? Then give peace away.
Do you want forgiveness? Know that the more you forgive, the more forgiveness you will receive.
The more you live a lifestyle of forgiving others, the less you yourself will be affected by bitterness, grudges, and resentment.
The more you give, the more you will get.
Lord it is good that I am here.
